Shire Tree Removal is the local face of Above All Tree Services Pty Ltd. Wayne Back started Above All in 2004, doing small removals and pruning jobs with minimal equipment after 20 years running his own veterinary practice. It has grown from two people to seven full-time staff and a casual crew, with the cranes and elevated work platforms for the hardest jobs, and it is still run by the Back family.
We work right across Sydney, but the Shire is home: it's where we live, where most of our 22 Google reviews come from, and the council whose tree rules we know best. The main website has the whole team, recent jobs and reviews.

Tree lopping is an unregulated trade: anyone with a ute and a chainsaw can call themselves an arborist. Here is what ours actually hold.

- Two AQF Level 5 consulting arborists. Wayne Back and Joshua Baber hold the Diploma-level qualification councils ask for when they want a "consulting arborist", and write arborist reports councils accept.
- Wayne teaches chainsaw operations at TAFE NSW part-time, and is a volunteer Deputy Captain and trainer with the NSW Rural Fire Service.
- Licensed for the dangerous bits: elevated work platforms over 11 m, Electrical Close Approach for work near service lines, and rail, ARTC and Sydney Airport inductions.
