Trees of the Shire
The Shire's suburbs each have their own tree problems. The bushland suburbs along the Royal National Park and the Woronora (Engadine, Heathcote, Loftus, Grays Point, Bundeena) are full of big eucalypts and angophoras on bush fire prone land, where the 10/50 Code can apply. The bays off Port Hacking (Gymea Bay, Yowie Bay, Lilli Pilli, Burraneer) have steep, waterfront blocks where the truck and chipper sometimes arrive by barge. Cronulla and Caringbah have the Shire's palms and Norfolk pines; the plateau suburbs (Menai, Bangor, Illawong) have remnant bushland that council protects at any size. Whatever yours is, we've probably done the tree next door.
